# IPolicyAssociation

`IPolicyAssociation` declares the contract for a single association between two policies — which policy is associated, whether it is the parent side, and which association type it belongs to. It is implemented in this repository by `SAIF.Business.View.Policy/Associations/clsPolicyAssociation.vb`.

## Purpose
- Identify one associated policy, whether it plays the parent role in the association, and which `IPolicyAssociationType` the association belongs to.
- Serve as the element type for `IPolicyHeaderDataProvider.PolicyAssociations` and the return type of `IPolicyAssociationType.GetAssociations`.

| `Equals` | `Function Equals(...) As Boolean` | Equality comparison for policy associations (typically by policy number and association type). |

## Behavioral notes
- Confirmed in-repo implementer: `clsPolicyAssociation` (`SAIF.Business.View.Policy/Associations/clsPolicyAssociation.vb`), outside this library's scope.
